Guidelines for attending an Art Psychotherapy session

The UK is currently experiencing a public health emergency as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This document is to help you understand what you need to do to keep yourself and others safe when attending an Art Psychotherapy appointment at Insight Therapy Centre.

All clients are asked to do the following:

Stay at home if you feel unwell with any of these symptoms, however mild:

  • Recent onset of a new continuous cough.

  • High temperature.

  • Loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell.

On arrival

  • Please only attend Insight if you have an appointment.

  • It is preferable that you arrive at your scheduled appointment time. However, if this is not possible, the waiting room can be used. Social distancing must be adhered to and face masks are compulsory whilst waiting for your appointment.

  • Try to attend the appointment on your own (unless the appointment is for more than just you).

  • Please scan the QR code displayed near the front door onto your NHS COVID-19 App for track and trace purposes.

  • Do not eat or drink in the centre except water in disposable cups or bottles.

  • If you use the water cooler, please wipe this down after use.

  • Please make every reasonable effort to comply with the social distancing guidelines as you move around the building.

In the therapy room

  • Please use the hand sanitiser offered in the therapy room on arrival and before you leave. Alternatively, wash hands with soap and water at these times.

  • Materials will be wiped down by myself after each session.

  • Social distancing must be adhered to, although face coverings are not compulsory.

As Public Health advice changes rapidly, I will be reviewing these guidelines regularly as well as taking advice from BAAT.

Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions and, in the meantime, thank you for keeping us all safe.
